Meet JOËL Cintron, a Hartford-based Creative “Jack-of-all-Trades”
who has a passion for storytelling, connection, and teaching.
JOËL has always been interested in visual storytelling and loves to capture moments through Photography and Videography. He is also a skilled Writer who can craft compelling narratives that connect with his audience. JOËL's passion for storytelling extends to Project Management, where he enjoys overseeing every aspect of a project from ideation to execution. Recently, he began offering Social Media Management and Content Creation to his repertoire, where he creates and posts content that builds relationships with the digital community for his clients (such as TheaterWorks Hartford).
JOËL's journey into the visual arts started while studying abroad in France through the UCONN in Paris program in 2011. In 2015, he returned to France where he taught English to middle and high school students as part of the TAPIF program. During his time in France, he discovered his love for connecting with others by using visual and written media. JOËL's curiosity and eagerness to learn drove him to continue his education and stay on top of new trends and technologies in the field.
JOËL holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Connecticut (2013) and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Goodwin University (2020). In 2023, he was accepted into the second cohort of the Artist of Color Accelerator Program. As part of his program, he collaborated with TheaterWorks Hartford to organize and create a Puerto Rican exhibition called Siempre Pa’lante. In the same year, JOËL became an Adjunct Professor in Digital Photography at Tunxis Community College. Then, in the summer of 2024, he became the Teaching Artist for the SNAP! Photography Teen Residency at the Amistad Center of Arts and Culture. The Residency culminated in a group exhibition called “Thicker Than Water” which was shown in the Wadsworth Atheneum from November 29th to December 15th, 2024.
Today, JOËL is a seasoned professional with years of experience in the industry. His technical knowledge and research-driven approach help him stay ahead of the curve and provide exceptional service to his clients. He is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve his craft, whether it's through attending workshops, learning from other creatives, or experimenting with new equipment and software.
